Boston shaker 5050 from the Mixology collection of the Italian brand Alessi. A classic of the genre, generally considered the most professional shaker. It was designed in 1979 by Ettore Sottsass and has been on the market for over 40 years. Alberto Gozzi decided to modify the upper part of the shaker and replaced the glass part with a stainless steel element. Many mixologists demanded this change because steel is clearly more durable than glass. The Alessi 5050 shaker is made entirely of copper-colored 18/10 stainless steel. The shaker consists of two parts that fit together perfectly: the upper steel part is particularly flexible thanks to a special cold treatment. The lower steel beaker can also be used as a glass for mixing drinks using the 5054 stirrer.
