Phantom is the name of the furniture collection by Eva Solo, designed by the Danish design duo Tools®. Inspired by the traditional conversation sofa, the Phantom collection encourages interaction. Originally, conversation furniture was created at a time when entertainment meant lively discussions with family and friends, without the use of television or touch screens.
The classic sofa had a strong backrest and was often upholstered with buttons. Buttons were abandoned, and holes were left in their place. It is to this detail that the name Phantom refers. The buttons seem to be there, but in reality they are not. Like an illusion.
