Lechuza Basicpon substrate. Lechuza has developed a high-quality plant substrate that perfectly combines the advantages of organic soil with the advantages of minerals such as pumice, lava and zeolite.
Delicate plants, sensitive seedlings and fresh shoots need a very special substrate to grow optimally to develop. The pure mineral BASICPON plant medium is particularly suitable for this purpose due to its unmixed composition, as it allows fertilization as needed.
The peat-free BASICPON plant medium is volume-stable and provides the delicate roots with sufficient support in the pot. Zeolite permanently stabilizes the optimal pH value, which is especially important for sensitive plants. Thanks to its ability to store water, it naturally regulates the plant's water supply. Excessive moisture, which often leads to root rot, is avoided thanks to the high drainage capacity of pumice and lava.
In addition, the BASICPON plant substrate is not a habitat for pests such as fruit flies, thanks to its purely mineral composition. This means that it does not have to be replaced even after several years and can be used repeatedly. It is also allergy friendly. BASICPON can be used as the sole substrate or added to traditional plant soil.
